Major in finance at K-State
Our finance programs seek to provide a high quality educational experience that inspires our students to assume leadership in a global, ever-changing, and diverse business world.
As a finance major, you will learn the principles, concepts, and tools essential to financial decision making. In conjunction with the accounting, economics, management, and other quantitative techniques that you will learn as your progress through the degree program, you will be well-prepared for a career in finance. Additionally, effective written and oral communications skills and the ability to work in groups are essential skills for success you learn in your business and non-business coursework.
Students in one of our finance courses manage a real-money investment fund worth more than $1 million and furnished by one of our alumni families, Dennis and Sally von Waaden.
The Finance Department offers numerous merit-based scholarships to finance majors. Learn more.
The Student Finance Association is one of the most active in the college and provides opportunities for further development and connection in finance.
