Sheila's academic journey in Journalism and Mass Communications from Kansas State University laid the foundation for her distinguished career. As a journalist, she earned national recognition with her work featured in USA Today, Chicago Tribune, ESPN, and CNN.

At Kansas State University, Sheila enhanced the university's social media presence, establishing it as a digital leader, and later served as a social media consultant for the Kansas Small Business Development Center.

In 2016, she founded SEG Media Collective LLC, offering branding and social media consulting worldwide. She and her team have developed award-winning brands and campaigns, including Fortune 500 companies.

She is the founder and president of the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills. This commitment was honored with the 2021 Minority Business Advocate of the Year award by the State of Kansas Department of Commerce.
