Menard Family Scholar Program

The Menard Family Scholars Program engages high-performing freshman business students in a year-long, cohort-based program designed to foster leadership development, ethical decision making, and innovative thinking, while gaining technical knowledge and skills through rigorous coursework. Through industry learning trips, alumni connections, one-on-one mentoring, and other exclusive experiences, students will explore college leadership opportunities and career pathways in the business sector.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

28 ACT+ or 1350 SAT+ and minimum 3.5 GPA OR if criteria is not met, a supplemental letter of nomination outlining student potential, motivation, and other indicators for success in the Scholars program may be provided for consideration.

MAPS Summer Bridge Program

Multicultural Academic Program Success (MAPS) is a six week summer program designed to prepare incoming students for the academic rigor of the university environment. Students experience industry tours and meet professionals and faculty who can serve as mentors through their college careers. Participants will also have access to professional, cultural, scholarship, and academic opportunities not available to other students. It is the MAPS mission to challenge and support students as they make the transition to college.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Incoming freshmen who identify as African American, Asian, Latino, Native American, or Multiracial. Space is limited to 10 students.

KOMPASS

KOMPASS is a free, three-day intensive bridge program designed to accelerate academic success for incoming freshmen multicultural students in agriculture, business, and engineering. Students will receive Guaranteed 4.0 training and participate in the K-State Challenge Course, team-building activities, workshops and business professional etiquette classes. The program extends into the first academic year, with mentors, professional development and academic monitoring.

Jump Start business transfer program

Are you a business student looking to transfer to Kansas State University? The College of Business’ Jump Start transfer program is designed to help students adjust to life at K-State while giving them a leg up on coursework required for all business majors.

Students will participate in a three-week program August 2 – August 18. The program starts with an online portion from August 2- August 4, followed by an on-campus portion from August 7-18.
