The College of Business Women in Business Initiative hosted its second annual Women in Business Career Summit on Monday, November 7 at the K-State Student Union. Click HERE to see pictures from the event.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Career Summit is hosted by the Center for Principled Business at Kansas State University, for current high school students, college students, and business professionals. The Summit will provide an opportunity for personal and professional development for current college students as they prepare to move into the workforce and will connect successful alumni with high school and college women to offer mentoring, networking, and learning opportunities.

SPEAKERS

Natacha Buchanan is chief diversity officer for ConocoPhillips, joining the company in April 2022. She has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, she served as directory, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) for Phillips 66. In that role, Buchanan managed and executed the global I&D strategy and supported business units in their I&D strategy implementation. Prior to that role, Buchanan served as LRP coordinator, Controllers.

Danielle Calhoun is an award-winning diversity, equity and inclusion leader, with expertise in digital marketing and integrated communications. She has 15 years of experience in the communications industry, starting her career in digital media and following her passion for diversity, equity and inclusion to become Vice President, Inclusive Practices, for Weber Shandwick North America.

  • Closing keynote address with Leanne Caret, Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor for the Boeing Company.

Most recently, Leanne Caret served as president and chief executive officer of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, which provides solutions for defense, government, space, intelligence, and security customers worldwide. Countries beyond the United States where Defense, Space & Security has prominent operations include Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. In 2021, Boeing’s revenue from defense and space platforms and services exceeded $33 billion.

Parking is available in the K-State parking garage at 706 N Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Manhattan, KS. Parking will be validated upon Summit check-in.
