CBA Outstanding Senior Recipient and Student Commencement Speaker
Congratulations to Julia Pfaff for being selected as the recipient of the CBA Outstanding Graduating Senior Award and to Alyssa Ansay for being selected as the Graduate Commencement Speaker.

Julia Pfaff, a native of Overland Park, is the daughter of Cristina and Jeff Pfaff and is applying to law schools in the fall. While an undergraduate, Julia has demonstrated exceptional academic achievements by maintaining a 3.9 GPA while pursuing her major in Organizational Management on the Pre-Law track. She has also earned a certificate in International Business and Non-Profit Leadership, and minors in Leadership and Spanish. Her commitment to global learning is evident through her study abroad experiences in London, Brussels, and Madrid.

She has contributed above and beyond the average College of Business student through her roles as the President of Business Ambassadors, a member of the Menard Scholars Program, and a member of the runner-up team at the 2023 Tenaska Business Case Competition. Outside the college, she served as a class leader for the LEAD212 course, director of events for the Pre-Law Ambassadors, Merit Chair for Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, as well as a volunteer coach for the local chapter of Girls on the Run, highlighting her dedication to service and leadership.

Julia’s ability to connect with students, share her experiences, and create a sense of belonging leaves a lasting legacy on the College of Business and the university, making her a very deserving recipient of this award.

Alyssa Ansay, originally from Frisco, TX, is the daughter of Brian and Alexis Ansay, and majored in Professional Strategic Selling. After graduation, Alyssa will begin her career with Stryker as a Joint Replacement Associate Sales Representative.

Alyssa has maintained a 3.8 GPA while honing her leadership skills through involvement in the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she served as Vice President of Member Development and Chapter Foundation Ambassador. Her participation in various organizations, including the National Strategic Selling Institute (NSSI) Student Mentorship Program, Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, and Golden Key International Honor Society, further highlights her dedication to service and leadership.

As President of the Sales Ambassadors, Alyssa oversaw 48 Ambassadors and led efforts that drove record-breaking growth for the K-State Sales Program. As the Student Director of the Medical Sales Scholars, she co-founded the first student interest group under the NSSI, guiding 80-plus members in preparing for medical sales careers including hosting the inaugural ‘Med-Sales Day.’

Further, her commitment to global learning is evident through her coursework at the American Business School of Paris, where she studied Organizational Management and Creating and Developing Luxury Brands. Alyssa’s internship at Stryker also gave her invaluable experience in various medical sales activities. Her honors and awards demonstrate her outstanding capabilities and contributions, such as having five internal sales competition wins including the Mylo and Huhtamaki Sales Competitions and the Edward Jones Sales Competition (three times). Further, she was named the College of Business Mentee of the Year in 2023.
