CBA Outstanding Senior Recipient and Student Commencement Speaker

Congratulations to Reese Kuzniakowski, who was awarded the Fall 2024 recipient of the CBA Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, and Brenton Wilden, who is the Fall 2024 Graduate Commencement Speaker.

As an undergraduate, Reese Kuzniakowski was a top-performing Finance major earning a 4.0 GPA. He has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and a strong work ethic. His extensive work experience includes internships with leading financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, where he served as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in 2024 and will return as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group in 2025. Reese also gained experience as a Financial Planning Associate at StoryOne Family Office, a Private Bank Summer Analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase, and a Venture Capital Analyst Intern with the University Venture Fund Crossroads.

Reese has served as a leader within the K-State Finance Scholars, where he manages the investment banking vertical, mentors students, and organizes educational trips to global financial hubs. His leadership and analytical abilities have been recognized with awards including the Gates Capital Management Scholarship and a top placement in the 2024 Gates Capital Management Stock Pitch Competition.

Brenton Wilden is an Accounting and Finance major and will earn his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in December 2024 and complete his Master of Accountancy in May 2025. Known for his commitment to academic excellence, Brenton maintains a 4.0 GPA as a double major and is a member of the selective Menard Family Scholars Program. His studies include international experience, with study abroad programs in Ireland, Spain, and Portugal.

Brenton has honed his professional skills through internships with top firms such as Deloitte, where he contributed to audit engagements within financial services, and FORVIS, where he gained hands-on experience preparing various tax returns and reconciling accounts. His role at Huhtamaki further developed his financial acumen, as he created budgeting templates and compiled historical financial data for comprehensive analysis.

In addition to his professional experience, Brenton is a dedicated graduate teaching assistant in Managerial Accounting at Kansas State University and serves as a Peer Financial Counselor with Powercat Financial. His leadership roles include serving as an analyst with the Fixed Income Fund, a Membership Committee Chair for the Financial Services Leadership Institute, and a College of Business Ambassador. Brenton has also received several prestigious awards, including the AICPA Foundation Scholarship for Future CPAs and the KSCPA Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick Leadership Scholarship.
