Why did you choose K-State/CBA? I chose K-State because I recognized that its business program is tailored very well to help students succeed and gain valuable experiences. I have lived in Manhattan, Kansas for about 10 years now and during those years I got many opportunities to familiarize myself with K-State and its family environment. This was done through going on numerous tours so I was drawn to the campus very early on.

Involvement at K-State or in the community: I am involved in Business Ambassadors which is an organization that is there to aid the College of Business with its’ recruiting efforts by giving tours of the business building and assisting with on campus events such as Success 101. I am also involved in Hospitality Management Society which gives me insight about the hospitality industry, and Kansas State Book Selection Committee which is an organization that allows me to do what I love doing during my spare time; read.

Why did you apply to be an Advising Assistant? I applied to be an Advising Assistant because I enjoy putting myself in positions where I know I am helping others to make a positive difference. Coming in as a Freshman I had a very hard time trying to adjust to the college environment and had many questions but never knew who to go to for help with my questions. Although it was a hard experience, I am thankful for it because it only motivated me to put myself in positions where I can help students that may be going through what I went through.

What is your most memorable moment at K-State? My most memorable moment at K-State would be going to the Russell Stover Chocolate Factory with one of my best friends. It had been a very long week during that time and although the trip didn’t have anything to do with my major, I went because it was opportunity for me to branch out and learn about the activities that different majors partake in. The trip was amazing and I came home with PLENTY of chocolate so I would definitely go again.

Have you studied abroad, if so where did you go and name your favorite experience. If you have not, what would your ideal country to study abroad at? I have not studied abroad but if I could go anywhere, my ideal country to study abroad at would either be the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Japan. I always tell my family and friends if I had the opportunity to travel the world no one would see me because I would be out exploring all the time.
