What is your hometown and high school?
Salina, Kansas, Salina Central High School

Where do you want your marketing degree to take you?
The great thing about majoring in marketing is that it is a flexible career path and there are a variety of opportunities to be employed after finishing a degree. I know I will use marketing at the core of what I do in the future. With each new marketing class and internship opportunity that I have been able to take advantage of, I see another possible career path that I would enjoy pursuing. I have been able to add concentrations in sports marketing, sales, and even data analytics by working toward certificates in those areas while at K-State. I hope to utilize those skills working in sports marketing.

What is your favorite thing about the College of Business? About K-State?
There are quite a few things that I truly value about the College of Business. My favorite things include the faculty, the college’s commitment to networking and internships, the variety of optional certificates available, and the Menard Family Scholars Program. My fellow Menard Scholars and our leaders were my first friends on campus and have remained great friends of mine.

My favorite thing about K-State will always be the people. It is significant to me that the Princeton Review acknowledges us as having the best collegiate quality of life in the country. I remember when I was being recruited to KSU, it was #1 in happiest students. I have found that to be true in my own experience as well.

Why did you want to be an ambassador?
I ran for student ambassador with the goal of spreading the message that Kansas State will do whatever it takes to help their students overcome possible barriers and help them thrive in their education. Throughout my life, I have been challenged in terms of accessibility. K-State has always cleared a path for me to take advantage of the opportunities both in the classroom and in organizations I’m involved with: Student Foundation, Student Government Association, Menard Family Business Scholars, honoraries, and my fraternity.

As a student ambassador, I want to impart my enthusiasm for our university into every community in Kansas and beyond, help build the future group of the Wildcat family through recruitment, and share in the remembrances of various alumni of their experiences at Kansas State.

What makes your message unique?
I believe that my message stems from my unique perspective and experiences regarding campus accessibility.

How did you become involved in researching Professional Bull Riding (PBR) statistics for CBS Sports?
I have been a fan of the PBR since I was a little kid. I was the recipient of a dream trip through The Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City to the PBR World Finals and through that trip, I made connections that resulted in my first internship. Since then, I have had the opportunity to do some freelance and contract work, including researching statistics for on-air commentators.

Do you see a future in something like that or is it just a really cool hobby?
I enjoy the work that I am doing, but am unsure if it will evolve into a career. In many ways, I am still assessing my skill set. I love sports statistics and working in philanthropy. I will definitely be watching for a job opportunity that brings together those with my passion for western sports.
