The Rise Up Experience
Freshman Year
Rise Up Scholars entering the program as first semester freshmen can expect the structured program below. Transfer students or those entering the program after their first semester receive an accelerated yet similar program.
High Performance Habits + Community Building: Rise Up Scholars are enrolled as a cohort in several common business courses. In the exclusive Rise Up course, Scholars learn tools to excel academically, gain exposure to career possibilities, and begin to network with Rise Up Partners. Scholars get early access to Career Accelerator training to learn fundamentals for career success including resume writing, interview skills, and LinkedIn. Rise Up Partners collaborate with the class to provide real-life context and experience. Other requirements:

Sophomore Year
Executive Mentor: Rise Up Scholars work with a Rise Up Executive Mentor, who is a business professional with several years of experience. Students and mentors work together for six months during which they meet monthly to develop and work toward the student's career goals and hone the student's professional skills. Other Requirements:
- Explore internship opportunities
Junior and Senior Year
Career Strategizing: Rise Up Scholars meet with their College of Business Career Coach in August of each year to set career-related goals and action items for the year including mock interviews, resume reviews, career fair preparation, and application and interview strategy for internships/Jobs. Other Requirements:
- Mentor freshmen and sophomore Rise Up Scholars
- Explore internship, job, and/or graduate school opportunities
