Overview
Offered by the National Strategic Selling Institute at the Kansas State University College of Business, the Sales Scholars Program, formerly known as the CAT Community, is a year-long, cohort-based program for outstanding freshman sales students.
The Sales Scholars program, part of the National Strategic Selling Institute, offers first-year students a head start in professional sales. Scholars develop essential skills in relationship management, ethical selling and leadership through hand-on learning, mentorship and industry insights. This program lays a strong foundation for success in the dynamic world of sales, positioning students for future career opportunities and long-term growth.

Who Should Apply?
Sales Scholars are K-State high achievers and future business leaders. Past scholars are students from diverse backgrounds who represent many different states and countries. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are open now.
To apply, you should have:

Strong academic performance (GPA, ACT/SAT scores)

Proven extracurricular involvement

Letter of Nomination

Required interview with sales faculty and current program students
- Plan to major in sales
Requirements
Maintain full-time status as a pre-business student (12 credit hours each semester) and Maintain Minimum GPA of 3.0
