Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rules?
Students must be attending a Kansas High School to be eligible to compete in the competition. There is no cost to attend, however, registration is limited to the first 36 students that register to compete. Each student will need to complete a W-9 and media release form signed by their legal guardian if they are under the age of 18. These forms will be provided after registration is completed. How do students register?
Each student needs to complete their own registration information at the following link. The deadline to register is Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.

How do students prepare for the competition?
It will be up to each student competing to review the role-play case, the example video, and any other additional preparation materials provided here. Each student should have an understanding of SPIN Selling, with a handout provided. Students may also have to do their own research on the selling organization, T-Mobile, or the solutions, which can be done through the following links:


Webinar Information
We hosted a webinar for students to gain additional insight and preparation for the competition. The purpose of this webinar was to explain how the competition is set-up, go over the case for Round 1, and answer any questions. You can watch the webinar below. High School Sales Competition Webinar



How is the sales competition structured?
The sales competition will include three rounds. All student competitors will compete in the first round and the schedule for the first round will be released no later than Friday, April 9, 2021. Up to twenty competitors will advance to the second round and no more than four competitors will advance to the third or final round. For all three rounds, students will compete individually.

How long is each round?
During Round 1 and Round 2, the student will have 10 minutes to complete their role-play. During the third or final round, the student will have 15 minutes to complete their role-play. Please reference the schedule provided for the exact time each competitor will compete.

Where will the competition be held?
The competition will be held virtually through the Zoom platform.

Where do I go for day-of questions or information?
Anyone who has questions on the day of the High School Sales Competition can visit the main Zoom room.
