Accelerator FAQ
What is the Accelerator program?
Accelerator is a venture support program based out of Kansas State University. The program provides entrepreneurs access to world-class K-State faculty, students, and alumni support to help launch or grow their business. The program is designed to give first-time founders the business basics to turn concepts into ventures, or give their ventures a competitive edge.
Where will the Accelerator take place?
The Accelerator program will be hosted virtually.
When will the Accelerator take place?
The program will begin in March and end in July. Since the content will be shared virtually, most of the program will be self-paced for participants.
How much does it cost?
Accelerator is free of charge for participants, thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners. There is no application fee, no cost to participate, and Accelerator will not retain any equity or ownership stake.
Do I need to be a student or alumni of K-State to participate?
Yes and no. The program is accepting any Kansas-based business (do not need to be a K-State student or alumni) OR businesses of K-State students and alumni (these can be out of state!)
What will I get if I am selected to participate?
Each participant in the Accelerator program will receive exclusive access to the faculty-led sessions, startup and other business mentors, and hands-on research completed by K-State business students. The estimated value for each participant is approximately $10,000 in support and in-kind resources.
Can my business partner participate?
If your business has multiple co-founders, the initial founding team is welcome to participate together. Please note this on the application. Likewise, if you are a solo founder, you are also welcome to apply and participate individually.
