Investment Club

The Investment Club is a student-run organization that provided opportunities to members to learn about investment management from business professionals through on-campus meetings and employer visits. Students involved in the Investment Club have the opportunity to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting held in Nebraska, and employer visits in Chicago and Kansas City.

Membership is open to all students enrolled at Kansas State University and meetings are held every other Tuesday or Monday during the fall and spring semesters. Stock Market Competition

The Investment Club and Department of Finance host an annual Stock Marketing Competition open to all current K-State Students from November to April. A stock market competition is where students buy/sell/trade online mock stock using their own portfolios through a paper trading platform called Interactive Brokers. The portfolios will start with a balance of $100,000. Prior to purchasing stock, students are encouraged to research different options to attempt to earn the most money by the end of the competition.

The competition will run from November 2023, to April 23, 2024, and students can join throughout the month of November. The top three students with the highest gains in their portfolio will receive scholarship prizes; first place will receive $500, second place will receive $300, and third place will receive $200.

Students interested in competing or who have questions should contact Stbruna@ksu.edu, kstateinvestmentclub@gmail.com or the Department of Finance at finance@ksu.edu.
