Elevator Pitch Competition

High School Elevator Pitch Competition

The National Strategic Selling Institute is excited to host its inaugural High School Elevator Pitch Competition. The Elevator Pitch Competition is designed to help Kansas DECA members prepare for their 2021 competition season by developing the skills necessary to introduce yourself and your idea in a clear, concise, and comfortable manner. Whether you compete virtually or in-person, having planned and executed a successful elevator pitch provides an incredibly powerful gateway into your Kansas DECA competitive event experience.

General Information

Students are expected to pitch themselves following the recommended template and rubric provided. To help students prepare we have provided resources such as an informational flyer, a template to help students create their Elevator Pitch, the rubric, and example videos. All the resources can be found at the bottom of this page.

When creating the Elevator Pitch video students are expected to be dressed like a business professional and have a plain, non-distracting background in their video.

Submission

To submit, each student will have to upload their video submission using the following form. The deadline for submission is Friday, November 20, 2020. The Elevator Pitch should be a minimum of 40 seconds and last no longer than 1 minute. We prefer videos to be submitted as an MP4 file.
