High School Stock Pitch Challenge

2022 Kansas High School Stock Pitch Challenge

Goal of the Competition

The Kansas High School Stock Pitch Challenge is a scholarship competition that invites all Kansas High School students to compete and learn about stock investing. Students work in teams of up to five with access to resources to guide them through the competition. The competition aims to teach students about stock analysis, finance, and investment while developing essential teamwork and communications skills.

The competition is hosted by Kansas State University College of Business Administration’s Department of Finance and Center for Principled Business. Scholarship prizes are awarded as follows:

1st Place team members will each receive $1,000 in K-State Scholarships.

2nd Place team members will each receive $750 in K-State Scholarships.

3rd Place team members will each receive $500 in K-State Scholarships.

Each team will write a report on their chosen company, with buy and sell recommendations. They will submit the report three times and receive feedback from judges each time to improve the report. The final report will include at least three months of stock tracking for an overall buy/sell recommendation.

The top five teams will be invited to present their findings to a panel of industry and faculty judges on Saturday, April 30, 2022. In addition, finalists will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive networking event at the Kansas State College of Business to learn more about Kansas State University and opportunities for aspiring business leaders.

We understand that most students have never competed in a stock pitch competition or written a stock report – and that’s okay! Participants will have access to examples, videos, and how-to’s through our competition resources Canvas course. In addition, we will hold virtual Q&A sessions each month. If you have additional questions, you can reach out to your business teacher or the Kansas State University Department of Finance, and our faculty is looking forward to helping you!
