About the C. Clyde Run
In 2012, the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University hosted the inaugural "C. Clyde Run" Fun Run 5K and Fun Walk, honoring the college's first dean, C. Clyde Jones, a tireless community volunteer. Each year, the event raises nearly $20,000, benefiting Shepherd's Crossing, as well as educates CBA student leaders about the importance of philanthropy and community engagement. All events are open to the community, and we welcome all ages and abilities. The 5K race route winds throughout the K-State campus, and participants can enter a four-person team to compete.
Group Competitions
On race day, we will keep track of participants from various community churches and will award the Traveling Trophy to the church with the most participants.
About Midge's Mile
In 2016, Midge’s Mile took on added significance. Clyde's beloved wife, Midge, passed away on May 1, 2016, just six weeks short of 68 years of marriage. Her birthday falls on Nov. 2, creating an opportunity to celebrate her life with this special event.
About Shepherd's Crossing
C. Clyde Jones is committed to Shepherd's Crossing, a local philanthropic organization offering budget counseling and financial support for utilities, rent and prescription medicine to Riley County and St. George residents. The mission of Shepherd's Crossing is to provide compassionate and caring assistance to those in need of a listening ear and critical support. As government support for many charitable organizations continues to decrease, the needs of community members continues to increase. Proceeds from the C. Clyde Run event will help Shepherd's Crossing continue offering its services to those in need.
