Master of Accountancy

The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program at K-State prepares students to succeed in business and accounting. You learn to solve abstract, unstructured problems and how to continue learning throughout your career. The MAcc program is a 30-credit hour curriculum that can be completed in one calendar year. You'll develop strong communication skills and the ability to work in teams. The MAcc at K-State also allows you to develop a depth of understanding in your choice of four specialty areas of accounting: financial reporting and auditing, taxation, and controllership, and enterprise information systems.

The following courses are required of all MAcc students. The typical semester offerings are noted in parentheses, but are always subject to change based on instructor availability. Please consult the latest course schedules for current offerings.

Required Courses (6 credit hours)

ACCTG 731: Advanced Financial Reporting (Fall)
ACCTG 890: Sem/Professional Accounting  must enroll two (2) semesters 3 hrs total  

Accounting Electives (12 credit hours)

ACCTG 832: Advanced Auditing (Spring)
ACCTG 833: Corporate Taxation (Spring)
ACCTG 834: Partnership Taxation (Fall)
ACCTG 835: Advanced Management Accounting (Spring)  
ACCTG 844: Design of Accounting and Business Information Processes (Fall)

You may select your accounting electives based on one of the Accounting Specialty Areas.

Business Electives (6 credit hours)

The business electives may be selected from non-accounting courses numbered 800 or above within the CBA. There are currently 12 business electives from which to choose.

Non-Business Electives (6 credit hours)

These courses may be selected from courses numbered 500 or above outside the CBA.
