Master of Science in Data Analytics

Data is collected with every click of the mouse. Organizations large and small need individuals who can help collect, organize, and analyze large data sets. The M.S. in Data Analytics explores data science, analysis skills, and business management to provide you with an understanding of how to interpret data and clearly communicate its meaning. Students choose from two concentrations: Data Science or Applied Analytics.

Computational Tools and Languages Used

Students will learn/use a variety of tools and languages through the curriculum and workshops, including: Python, R, SQL, Stata, Tableau, and PowerBI. In addition, students will also work with cloud computing environments such as AWS and Azure.

 

Career Outlook

Employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 667,600 new jobs. Demand for these workers will stem from greater emphasis on cloud computing, the collection and storage of big data, and information security.
