Research Goals

Tsvetomira Bilgili studies the macro- and micro-level factors that shape firms’ strategic choices and influence their performance. Accordingly, her research falls into two major research streams: (1) global strategy, and (2) organizational networks. The first stream focuses on the implications of national context (institutions and international relations) for firm strategy and performance, while the second stream examines the influence of firms’ intra- and inter-organizational networks.

Current Research and Consulting Projects

  • The influence of board network structure on firm performance
  • Antecedents and consequences of board of directors’ intra-firm knowledge network
  • Inter-firm peer network structure and CEO compensation
  • The influence of policy risk and international relations on cross-border M&As in emerging economies

Major Accomplishments

  • Published in Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, and International Business Review
  • Outstanding reviewer awards: Academy of Management Business Policy and Strategy (BPS) Division (2013), Southern Management Association International Management (IM) Division (2013)
