To maintain such a program and as a matter of principle, the faculty is committed to, and considers its highest priority, high quality teaching, including innovative curriculum and other instructional development. The faculty is also committed to research and other forms of scholarly activity that add to the body of knowledge or support and foster continous improvement in teaching.

In addition, the faculty is committed to participation in service activities that advance the profession and maintain the faculty’s professional currentness. The department is also committed to attracting and retaining highly motivated students with promise of success both in the department’s academic program and in the accounting profession. To this end, the faculty actively engages in student recruitment and placement, and strives to provide a supportive instructional environment.

Advisory Board & Recruiting

Advisory Board

The department of accounting builds strong partnerships with our alumni and the firms they represent in public and corporate accounting through our Advisory Council. Companies are able to:

  • Obtain valuable exposure to some of the top business students in the country
  • Create strong recognition for their company amongst our highly qualified student body
  • Gain immediate access to research developments as they emerge

Advisory Council members provide the department with much needed financial and other support. Members also participate by providing advice and counsel to accounting students and faculty. The Advisory Council allows firms to participate in a variety of ways that directly impact many accounting students annually

Advisory Council members and the firms they represent gain the opportunity to identify highly talented individuals with career goals within their respective industries. Accounting students are equally eager to know about the companies who recruit at K-State, and are most likely to accept positions at those firms they have come to know.
