College of Business Administration

Information Technology

The College of Business Administration’s Office of Information Technology strives to make available the tools needed for learning, teaching and doing research. It is the job of our IT staff to guide and support this learning institute as it advances on the cutting edge of technology. We are operated by the CBA Office of the Dean to benefit all students and departments within the college. Our primary services are supporting computing labs, classroom presentation systems, and faculty, staff, and student computing devices.

Mediasite

Mediasite is a capture and distribution system that lets instructors create lectures and presentation videos (live/on-demand). This system then allows students to watch this content on their computers or mobile devices.

Mediasite is useful for professors that want to record their class or complete a screen capture. It is a great tool for a reverse-style classroom, absent students, and guest lectures. Instructors have also began using it as a means to help prevent cheating during tests.

If you are interested in Mediasite or you would like to know how you could use this system in your classroom setup, please visit the Mediasite website or schedule a meeting with Ben Ward.

To schedule a Mediasite recording simply complete the Mediasite Request Form. Any additional questions or concerns should be emailed to cbavideo@ksu.edu or call our office today!

Microsoft Imagine

Students enrolled in a College of Business class can obtain Microsoft Software through Microsoft Imagine, including more than 100 titles available to download for free. These are full versions of the software and do not expire. Each package allows for one installation on one computer, and one copy of each software package.

Current College of Business Majors and Minors

To access the software, point your browser to the CBA Microsoft Imagine website and sign in to the K-State single sign on page with your K-State eID and password. This option is only available for College of Business Administration students.

Non College of Business Majors and Minors taking CBA classes

Students who are taking a CBA class but are not a CBA major or minor do not have access to this software, and must submit the CBA Software Form, located at the bottom of this page. This notifies the IT Department and gives us permission to submit your email address to the Microsoft Imagine site, thus giving you access to your software. You must use your K-State email address and WID. You should receive an email from cbasoftware@ksu.edu a few days after submitting your information. This email will include information about getting your software, and you will then have access to sign in to the CBA Microsoft Imagine website. Follow the instructions to log in to the Software Center to register and download your software.

Please Note: The request form and downloads are only available during the Spring and Fall semesters after the first day of class and students must register each semester.

Students are responsible for installation of the software. The IT department does not provide installation support. Please email cbasoftware@k-state.edu if you have questions.
