College of Business Administration

Dear Friends:

In 2012, the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University hosted the inaugural "C. Clyde Run" Fun Run 5K and Fun Walk to benefit Shepherd's Crossing, established to honor the college's first dean, C. Clyde Jones. In 2014, we hosted the third event raising approximately $18,000 to benefit Shepherd's Crossing! In the three years of the event, we have raised almost $60,000 for Shepherd's Crossing. Thank you!

The 2015 "C. Clyde Run" Fun Run 5K will be held October 3, 2015. The event will be open to the community with a 5K race route set on the K-State campus along with Midge's Mile Family Fun Walk to honor Clyde's better half, Mrs. Midge Jones. People of all ages and abilities are able to participate. This year, we will add the option to enter as a 4-person team at a rate of $80 if the team registers together. We will also be keeping track of participants from the various churches throughout the community and will award a "Traveling Trophy" to the church with the most participants in the events.

We ask you to please review our sponsorship form and consider being an event sponsor for 2015. Invoices are available on request. We appreciate receiving your sponsorship response as soon as possible, but no later than September 9 to acknowledge your support on all 2015 race publicity materials and at our Race Booth at the 2015 Color Run in Manhattan on September 12, where your logo will be visible to more than 6,000 people.

To the right of this letter, you will find the logos and names of our 2014 sponsors as well as a photo album of the 2014 event. With your sponsorship, your organization will be listed on our website, Facebook page, and in our printed materials beginning in September 2015 through August of 2016. The CBA Business Ambassadors lead this event which helps to educate K-State business students about philanthropy and community engagement while supporting the great work of Shepherd's Crossing.

You may pay for your sponsorship online via the Shepherd's Crossing website, or with a check payable to Shepherd's Crossing. Please remember to scan, mail, or fax the sponsorship form with your high resolution logo to the attention of Melanie Horton at mhorton@ksu.edu, (fax: 785-532-7216), or mail to: C. Clyde Run Fun Run & Walk, 110 Calvin Hall, Manhattan, KS, 66506. For more information, please contact Ms. Horton (785-532-7227). Sponsorships are tax deductible through Shepherd's Crossing.

We hope you will partner with us or sign up for the 2015 "C. Clyde Run" 5K Fun Run & Walk and help Shepherd's Crossing to assist those within our community in need. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Best regards,
Kevin Gwinner, Interim Dean of the College of Business Administration
C. Clyde Jones, Emeritus Dean

About the C. Clyde Run

In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Kansas State University College of Business Administration in 1962, the college hosts the  "C. Clyde Run" Fun Run/Walk for charity in honor of the first college dean, C. Clyde Jones.

Jones is a tireless volunteer to K-State and the Manhattan community. He is especially involved with the work of Shepherd's Crossing, a local ecumenical ministry that offers budget counseling, referrals, and financial support to residents in Riley County and St. George.
