C. Clyde Fun Run 5K and Midge's Mile Fun Walk

The 2017 C. Clyde Fun Run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017!

About the C. Clyde Run

In 2012, the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University hosted the inaugural "C. Clyde Run" Fun Run 5K and Fun Walk, honoring the college's first dean, C. Clyde Jones, a tireless community volunteer. Each year, the event raises nearly $20,000, benefiting Shepherd's Crossing, as well as educates CBA student leaders about the importance of philanthropy and community engagement. Join us for the 2017 run on Saturday, Oct. 28. All events are open to the community, and we welcome all ages and abilities. The 5K race route winds throughout the K-State campus, and participants can enter a four-person team to compete.

Group Competitions

On race day, we will keep track of participants from various community churches and will award the Traveling Trophy to the church with the most participants.

We will also keep track of participants from the Kansas State fraternities and sororities and will award a trophy to the one with the most participants. To participate in any of the day's events, register online or visit Manhattan Running Company.

About Midge's Mile

This year, Midge’s Mile takes on added significance. Clyde's beloved wife, Midge, passed away on May 1, just six weeks short of 68 years of marriage. Her birthday falls on Nov. 2, creating an opportunity to celebrate her life with this special event. Families are encouraged to honor Midge by joining their children in a Halloween costume walk, with prizes for the most creative children’s costumes.

About Shepherd's Crossing

C. Clyde Jones is committed to Shepherd's Crossing, a local philanthropic organization offering budget counseling and financial support for utilities, rent and prescription medicine to Riley County and St. George residents. The mission of Shepherd's Crossing is to provide compassionate and caring assistance to those in need of a listening ear and critical support. As government support for many charitable organizations continues to decrease, the needs of community members continues to increase. Proceeds from the C. Clyde Run event will help Shepherd's Crossing continue offering its services to those in need.

Join the fun

To participate in any of the day's events, register online or visit Manhattan Running Company. The entry fee is $20 for students, $25 for nonstudents, $10 for children under 16 and $20 per person for a team of four or more. The fee includes an event T-shirt.

This year's grand prize will be 2 West Stadium Central seats to the K-State vs Iowa State (Nov 25) football game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. All runners or walkers registered for the race by Oct 20, 2017 will be eligible for the drawing.
